Anon: I suppose I need something like get smallest to largest component containing the mouseXY and then do getImage().extract(cursorMask) and then paint the pixels not painted by the mouse cursor. Then I could look at animation.

Tim: So, I can probably easily do the first trial. In TFrame, make a TPanel holder, extending from JPanel, modify both ImagePanel and SizedPanel to return the image of the painted parts. Be able to retrieve the background color. Make the painted points available as a List<Point>. If cursorMaskPoints !inListOfPainted, getBackground() and paintIntoCursorMask.
